Concern for Animal Well-Being Inspires Cattery Launch

Maureen and Dick Boyd's concern for animal well-being and their own experiences struggling to find satisfactory catteries inspired them to set up a cattery of their own. Maureen explains: "It was impossible to find a secure, self-contained space for our cat family where they were not in direct contact with other cats."

In 2000, with a property available in a country setting at Te Horo, about 60km north of Wellington, they decided to set up a deluxe long-term cattery. They have designed their unique cat accommodation on a home setting with standard-height ceilings, glass doors and decor.

A family of cats can have their own rooms and adjoining outdoor area. Just like a hotel, the rooms are cleaned and serviced daily and, when a guest checks out, rooms are stripped of bedding etc, cleaned from top to bottom, and made up fresh for the next check-in. All "boarders" must be de-sexed and have a one- or two-year vaccination certificate.

The couple have a large repeat client base and stays of one to three months at the cattery are common. They love cats and enjoy seeing them relax quickly into their new home. However, finding time out for their own holidays can be difficult because of their long-term guests.

If it's an Auckland cattery that you need, get in touch with us at All Seasons Pet Resort. Our cattery is made up of 10 individual private suites as well as 3 large communal lounge areas for the more social cat or cat families and we provide all those comforting things that any loving caring home would have.

We look forward to welcoming your feline friend to our cat accommodation and catering for their every whim!
